Connecting
Open a session
Pick a computer, connect, and read the status dot.
Sign in, and your computers are listed with a dot next to each one. Pick one, press Connect, and its desktop opens in a window.
The list
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Online | Running, sharing, ready. Connect. |
| Offline | Off, asleep, no internet, or not sharing. |
| Missing | Never linked to this account. See Devices. |
A computer that is on but shows offline usually never had sharing turned on. See sharing a computer.
The status dot
The toolbar has one dot. Its colour is the fastest thing to read.
| Dot | Says | Means |
|---|---|---|
| Cyan, pulsing | Connecting | Finding the computer, swapping keys. |
| Green, steady | Connected | Direct, full speed. |
| Amber, pulsing | On relay | Works, but going the long way. More. |
| Amber, pulsing | Reconnecting | The link dropped. It is rebuilding. |
| Red | Disconnected | The session ended. |
Green and still is the only one that needs nothing from you. A pulse means the app is busy fixing something.
Ending it
Press Disconnect, or close the window. The far computer stays on and keeps running whatever you left open.
One at a time on Free
Free allows one session at a time. Close the first one to open a second. See plans.
